CONSTITUTION Section 1. This organization shall be known as the Union Label and Service Trades Council of Fort Wayne. Section 2. Any organization whose parent body is affiliated with AFL-CIO and in good standing shall be permitted to affiliate with this council. Section 3. This council shall provide for a close relationship with the Central Labor Council of Allen County, AFL-CIO, and exchange delegates with the Central Labor Council of Allen County, AFL-CIO. Section 4. The term Union Label, wherever used in this Constitution and By-Laws, is declared to embrace Union Labels, Shop Cards, Store Cards and Service Buttons, or any device worn or exhibited to solicit patronage for union establishments or union members, and endorsed as such by the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations. Section 5. Each affiliated union shall retain autonomy and control over the laws and regulations governing the issuance and use of its respective Union Label, Shop Card, Store Card or Service Button. ARTICLE II 1. The objects of this Council shall be to promote a greater demand for products bearing the Union Label and labor performed by union workers whose services are designated by Shop Cards, Store Cards and Service Buttons. 2. Investigate into, devise, recommend, and within the limit of its authority, carry in to effect methods for the advertisement of Union Label products and services and identified by Shop Cards, Store Cards and Service Buttons. 3. To publicize AFL-CIO endorsed boycotts and encourage support. 4. To educate the members of trade unions, their families and the general public on the economic, social and moral uplift, furthered by the Trade Union Movement. 5. To expend and employ such funds and properties of this Council as may be necessary or appropriate to carry out the objectives and purposes of this Council. 6. To engage in such further activates as shall be appropriate to this Council and Consistent with, and in furtherance of the objectives, policies, procedures, laws and Constitution of the AFL-CIO. 7. To further the general welfare of all affiliated organizations, and to aid in the work of organizations among all the toilers for the common good.
